There is this question that everyone is asking about one thing in SPN 201
Why, if the Demon could be summoned so easily didn't John do it before, like 22 years earlier?
That's an interesting question and when I first heard/read it I wondered too, but if you think about it, it actually makes sense that he didn't.
For one the Winchesters didn't for a long time know that it actually was a demon, it was at first always referred to as 'the thing that killed mom', I don't know when exactly the word demon first came up.
And second, what if John had summoned the demon earlier, what then, blast it full of rock salt? Shoot it with silver bullets? That would have done next to nothing! NO, he needed the gun and he got it in .. 'Dead Man's Blood' and then everything kind of came at them all at once and there probably wasn't any time for summoning or so.
Well these are just my thoughts, tell me what you think.
